UV disinfection

A UV lamp is used for the disinfection of a water flow. The liquid is pumped over the UV lamp while the UV rays (more precisely UV-C with a wavelength between 250-270 nm) have a disinfecting effect on the water.

When using UV it is important that the liquid is clear: if the water contains too much floating particles or when the turbidity of the water is relatively high, the UV lamp will have a limited effect. The radiation will be scattered by the particles.

An important advantage of UV is the lack of chemical reagent. This means there is no returning dosing cost. Additionally, the chemical impact on the treated water is negligible.

PCA can help you with this technology, both in design and construction of the installation.
